302 and the Aiken Polo Experience

East of Aiken, Highway 302 is the thread connecting numerous polo farms and polo fields in the rolling South Carolina countryside.  302 Polo is a “Cooperative Effort” organized by several locally involved polo team patrons and local resident top professional players – such as Owen Rinehart, Adam Snow, Matias Magrini and  Julio Arellano - the Aiken Equine Community, and the support of the club’s corporate sponsors.  Together they make a perfect environment for polo.

Owen RinehartPolo has played an integral role in Aiken's history: from the 1800s, when Aiken was famous for its "Winter Colony" of wealthy easterners, to the 1960s when it was hailed as the "polo center of the United States."  Today, Aiken is experiencing yet another polo renaissance.  Polo players and enthusiasts travel from all corners of the world to play in Aiken. And many have settled here, both seasonally and year round to participate in the Aiken Polo Experience. Aiken boasts many polo players, amateur and professional alike, who own horse property in the area.Adam Snow

The Fields of Dreams...

The substantial polo organization of 302 Polo sports some of the world’s greatest polo players and among polo’s best playing fields.  302 Polo endorses competitive polo that is safe, well officiated and played in the spirit of good sportsmanship and etiquette.

New for 2007, practices can be arranged through the club as needed and teams will find the area has ideal facilities for stabling and accommodation rentals.  The après-polo is fun too…

On the Social Side...

302 Polo introduced the concept of the “Friday Night Fiesta” last spring.  This popular event seals the end of the working week and the start of a fun weekend of polo for patrons flying in to Aiken to play.  Cocktail parties to benefit the Hitchcock Foundation, the Polo Museum, and other local charities are events to mark on the calendar for the Aiken season. 302 Polo also joint-hosts parties with the Aiken Polo Club, uniting old friends at fun social events with the backdrop of great southern hospitality from the unique polo-friendly city of Aiken.

The 302 polo team...

302 Polo has built a management structure to provide the club with individuals who can orchestrate all aspects of the tournament organization and promotion.  The management team is fully supported by the 302 Board.

If you're returning to Aiken, 302 Polo welcomes you back.  If this is your first visit, we hope you enjoy the Aiken Polo Experience, and come again soon!
